Demi Lovato’s ex Wilmer Valderrama ‘heartbroken’ as he visits her in hospital

The pair were together for six years.

Just over 24 hours after news broke of Demi Lovato’s apparent overdose, and ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama has been spotted visiting her in hospital. According to onlookers, Wilmer arrived at the Cedars-Sinai hospital late last night and stayed there overnight with the singer. Sources close to the actor revealed that the news has left him utterly ‘shocked’.

“He knew she was going through a tough time but he wasn’t prepared for this,” they told People. “He saw her through so many ups and downs and was her through some of her darkest moments. "To see her back in such a sad and vulnerable place is heartbreaking for him.”

Demi and Wilmer dated for six years before announcing their split in June 2016, however, they have remained friends ever since with many saying they think of each other as the loves of their lives. Demi was hospitalised on Tuesday after a reported heroin overdose. TMZ cites law enforcement that says that Demi was treated with Narcan - an emergency treatment for narcotic overdoses - at her own home. The 25-year-old is now "awake and with her family" according to her publicist and plans on re-entering rehab once she is fit to do so.
