A male waiter working at a restaurant in Kansas was shocked when he received a note from a couple that refused to tip him because of his “homosexual lifestyle.”
The couple wrote a note on the back of the bill and praised the 20-year-old waiter for his service but stated that they could not “in good conscience” tip the man.
“Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD,” they wrote.
The full note reads as follows:
“Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours. We hope you will see the tip your fag choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’S love, but none shall be spared for fags. May GOD have mercy on you.”
The waiter’s mom, who happens to be a hostess at the restaurant, told reporters that the customers were lucky she hadn’t seen the note first or “the claws” would have come out.
The message spread across social media with many people coming out in support of the waiter.
“This does not represent Christianity. I called them Pharisees,” local pastor Dr. Marvin Baker told KCTV.
“God really loves us. And God does not advertise or promote hate. That is not love.”
The server did not wish to be identified or speak with the media but issued a statement of his own, saying, “the offers to help pay me back are much appreciated, but not at all needed.”
