Gardai fear that the man thought to be the chief suspect in the rape of a woman in Clondalkin last week has fled to the UK to avoid being caught.
The victim was walking down a road with her bike on Neilstown Road in Clondalkin at approximately 3am on July 28, when three men accosted her, attacking her and dragging her to a concealed area of a park.
It’s believed that one of the men sexually assaulted the woman, having threatened her at knifepoint.

The Independent is reporting this morning that the chief suspect is related to two men, aged in their teens and early 20s, who have already been arrested over the attack, but were released without charged.
Those two men had past convictions and were out on bail at the time of the attack.
But the search for the chief suspect has hit a walk, according to one source.
“It was initially thought that he was still in the country but in hiding, it’s likely he has now fled to the UK,” the source told the Independent.
“Local gardai have not been able to locate him despite having called to his home on previous occasions, but they are determined to catch and charge the perpetrators of this violent crime.”
The victim is believed to be in her 30s, and was treated at the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit in the Rotunda Hospital after the attack.
