Cassie testified during the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs trial

Cassie’s lawyer has issued a statement following the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs split verdict.

The jury found Combs not guilty on one count of racketeering and two counts of sex trafficking, while he was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution.

Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, told Variety:

“Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.

“By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice… She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion.”

Cassie filed a civil lawsuit against Combs in 2023, which helped other victims come forward.

The multiple lawsuits and allegations led to a federal investigation, which saw Combs charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The disgraced rapper was arrested in New York last September. He has denied all charges and entered a not guilty plea on September 17th, 2024.

The jurors’ verdict reads:

Guilty of Count 5: Transportation for prostitution of Jane and others

Not guilty of Count 1: Racketeering conspiracy

Not guilty of Count 2: Sex trafficking of Cassie Ventura

Guilty of Count 3: Transportation for prostitution of Cassie and others

Not Guilty of Count 4: Sex-trafficking of Jane*

Combs now faces up to 20 years in prison.
