British woman working in Lapland has been stabbed to death

A 25-year-old woman who did seasonal work in Kuttanen, Finland, has been stabbed to death.

It is thought the woman, who worked at a company offering tours to Santa, was killed by her boyfriend.

The woman has not yet been named.

The woman’s 36-year-old boyfriend has been arrested after police in the area launched a manhunt.

According to The Sun, the man fled the scene and was found hours later suffering from exposure to the freezing weather conditions. The Czech national spent hours in temperatures as low as -30C.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman confirmed the events:

“We are supporting the family of a British national who died in Finland on 3 December.”

A spokesperson for Santa Safari told the Sun:

“We are deeply saddened to confirm that a member of the Santa Safari team was discovered dead on 3 December.”

“We are all in shock from this tragic news and our thoughts go out to her family.”

“Our team is working closely with the Finnish Police and relevant authorities to support the investigation that is now underway.”
