BREAKING: Multiple injuries as lightning strikes in Paris and Germany

Eleven people, most of them children, have been injured by lighting hits in Paris today.

Lightning struck the Parc Monceau, in the west of the French capital, during a storm the afternoon. RTE news reports that 3 children and 1 adult are critically injured. BBC states is believed that the children were celebrating a birthday party when a storm hit. AFP news agency are now also reporting that 35 people have been injured after lightning as struck a football pitch in Germany. Three people are believed to be critically injured.
