A body has been found in the search for missing Wicklow woman Helen Owens.
The 82-year-old went missing from her home in Killoughter, Wicklow, on Monday 14 February and had not been seen since 4pm that afternoon.
It is understood that her body was found on the shore south of Wicklow town on Tuesday evening.
Gardaí have now thanked the public and the media for all of their help.
Gardaí said in a statement:
“Following the recovery of a body on the shore, south of Wicklow town, Co. Wicklow this afternoon Tuesday 15th February, 2022 the missing person appeal in respect of Helen Owens, 82 years, has been stood down.
“An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required and no further information is available at this time.”
On Tuesday, an urgent appeal to help find Helen was issued to the public.
