It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

Coffee Coloured Nail Shades, €10, from INGLOT
Coffee coloured nails are big business for the coming season and we’re hugely impressed by the selection currently instore at INGLOT. This Polish makeup brand has fast gained a reputation on these shores for quality products are very fair prices, and we’re especially fond of their nail enamels. Autumn nail colours range from a light milky toned latte style 365 or 366, to a rich, deep coffee bean coloured 371 or 353. The forumlas avoid the harsh, drying chemicals toluene, formaldehyde, DBP, and camphor, so you’re not damaging your talons either. At €10 per polish, we’ll be buying more than one.
INGLOT stores include Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dundrum Town Centre, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, and the Jervis Shopping Centre in the city; as well as the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick. A new Dublin City Centre store is due to open off Grafton Street in the coming weeks.
IDEALIA Life Serum, €34.50, Vichy
What if a serum could change your life in just eight days? That’s the question Vichy have posed in relation to their newest beauty innovation, the IDEALIA Life Serum. That’s some big talk right there, but if there’s one thing we know about Vichy, it’s that this brand won’t make promises it can’t keep. The product of ten years’ research, this wonder serum addresses the four dimensions of skin quality that are impacted by behavioral ageing;
Skin tone: Dull, grey complexion
Skin contrasts: Uneven and marked skin, uneven colouring, papier mache complexion
Expressivity: Sad, tired-looking face, dark shadows, drawn features
Skin balance: Enlarged pores, oily and dry patches
So what makes this one so special? Well, it contains LR2412 and LHA, which means nothing to most of us, but in cosmetic speak it’s a very exciting combination indeed. LR2412 is a derivative of jasmonic acid and a powerful anti-ageing molecule. LR2412 accelerates epidermal repair and improves the skin’s ability to protect itself. In this formula, LR2412 is coupled with LHA for the first time, a derivate of salicylic acid that stimulates cellular renewal in tired skin. It reduces pigmentary flaws at the surface with a targeted exfoliating effect and improves the quality of the complexion by increasing the reflection of light on the surface of the skin.
They say give it eight days and you’ll see the results. We’ve given it two weeks now and we’re in love. Plan repeat purchases…

E27/28 Mini Detailer and Ultra Fine Liner Brush, €11.99, from Blank Canvas Cosmetics
With New York fashion week coming to a close, we've been looking back over both the fashion and beauty trends for the coming season, and we’re happy to report that our beloved black eyeliner is going nowhere. One of the great things about A/W makeup is that everything gets a little more dramatic, so one of our top recommendations this week is this combo brush from Blank Canvas Cosmetics. Use a brown shadow an the E27 to line the lower lashes, then use the E28 to create a dramatic line with short and solid strokes. This beauty tool is a two-for-one, which we love, and at only €11.99 it’s a total bargain.
