Yesterday we brought you the story that Renua Leader Lucinda Creighton had accused an unnamed TD of printing 85,000 Christmas cards using the Oireachtas (tax-funded) printing services.
It emerged later that the story wasn’t true, and no such claims were made.
However, RTÉ reported Senator Averil Power has used the services to print 73,000 calendars that were distributed to voters in her Dublin Bay North constituency.
My calendar has contact details for public services. I have never printed a single Christmas card in the Oireachtas. pic.twitter.com/BqiDc7FnrI

She spoke to the national broadcaster and said: “that she has never printed Christmas cards because they have no useful public information and the calendars she printed while personalised and including a picture of her, include local information and phone numbers and her contact details.”
