If you’re planning on sending some Christmas bits abroad and are hoping they arrive before the big day, then you need to take note of these dates.
An Post released their list of final dates to ensure your Christmas cards and presents reach their destination before December 25th.
It’s important to remember these dates are only estimated, so try to give yourself as much time before the final call, particularly if you’re sending anything internationally.
The final post dates to ensure delivery before Christmas are:
Standard Letter & Parcels
- Republic of Ireland: December 22 / December 21 for parcels
- Northern Ireland: December 19
- Great Britain: December 18
- Rest of Europe: December 17 / December 12 for parcels
- USA: December 10 / December 5 for parcels
- Rest of the World: December 5
An Post have also warned that mail can’t be delivered to Canada due to recent strikes. However you should keep an eye on An Post’s website for updates – they’ll be posting them as they receive information from Canada Post.
Express Post
- Republic of Ireland: December 20
- Northern Ireland: December 19
- Great Britain: December 18
- Rest of Europe: December 17
- USA: December 10
- Rest of the World: December 10
International Courier Service
- Great Britain: December 18
- Rest of Europe: December 18

Another important thing to note is that international mail delivery times are estimates and subject to local postal operator delays.
