An Irish politician was reportedly arrested three times at a music festival

The politician was arrested for being drunk and disorderly, drink-driving and accosting an officer.

Over the July Bank Holiday weekend, a politician was arrested up to three times at the Indiependence music festival in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork.

According to The Irish Timesthe man is in his 30s and has worked at a national level.

After being thrown out of the festival venue, the politician was arrested by Gardaí for being drunk and disorderly. After being taken into custody in the nearby Garda station in Fermoy, the politician reportedly gave verbal abuse to officers and even more shockingly, spat in one of their faces.

As officers released the politician on Monday morning, he was later arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Mitchelstown. Gardaí were forced to take him back to Fermoy station but later released him.

On Monday evening, the offending politician was arrested once again, as he was found being drunk and disorderly in Fermoy and upon his third arrest, he reportedly assaulted a Garda.

He was kept in custody Monday night as an Gardaí Síochana in Fermoy plan to collect evidence in a file relating to the alleged assault of one officer.

The name of the disgraced politician has not been released however speculation is rife on Twitter as to who the drunken man was.
