The actress just broke the news on her Twitter account.
Known for her current role in the hit series Veep and record-breaking Emmy win earlier this month, the star shared her diagnosis on social media by saying:
“1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one.”
The post continues by saying that she is doing the best she can surrounded by good love and support.
“I have the most glorious group of supporting and caring family and friends.”

A rep for HBO told the Hollywood Reporter that she received the news the day after the Emmys.
Since announcing the news today, many stars have also spoken out, sending the actress love.

The 56-year-old is married to actor Brad Hall since 1987 and they are the parents to two sons Henry (25) and Charlie (20).
