A weather warning is in place for these five counties

Here we go again...

Met Éireann have issued a weather warning for five counties this weekend. A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork and Kerry. The warning was issued on Friday at 3pm and it's active from 6pm on Sunday until 9am on Monday. Met Éireann have warned:

"Some very strong west, veering northwest winds are expected to affect western and southwestern coastal counties later Sunday, overnight and into Monday morning with mean speeds of 55 to 65km/h gusts of 90 to 110km/h. "Winds will be strongest in the exposed hilly and coastal areas with very high seas along the coasts during this period."

Saturday will be a cool and blustery day, with showers in many places, although these will gradually clear throughout the day. A cloudy start to the day on Sunday will eventually lead to rain throughout the country, with heavy and prolonged showers a probability in Ulster, Connacht and west Munster. Winds will pick up as the day progresses before reaching their peak between 6pm on Sunday and 9am on Monday. Meanwhile, over in North America, at least 14 people have been reported dead after Hurricane Irma wreaked a trail of destruction of a series of islands in the northeast Caribbean in recent days. Residents of Florida are being urged to be on alert as strong winds head their way.
