Woman charges boyfriend €45 every time he stays at her house

Harry Warner

She has grand plans of what to do with the cash

Relationships can be complicated, that’s no secret, some couples have shared bank accounts, some don’t, while others go on holiday without their significant other because they can’t afford it.

However, where do you draw the line?

For most people, charging your partner €45 per night might just be over that hypothetical line of what equates to a healthy relationship.

Well, this is indeed the case for one woman, known as Kim who has over 60,000 likes on her TikTok page where she shares money-saving tips.

Kim is a mum and supposedly works 18 hours per day and has three jobs.

She revealed in one of her recent videos that she actually charges her boyfriend every time he comes to sleep over at hers.

She said: “I charge my boyfriend $50 (€45) every time he sleeps over. This is to cover my expenses like rent, groceries, and utilities that I would need to pay.”

Kim went on to explain how she has made $100 (€90) over the last week in cash payments from her boyfriend.

At that price per night you can only hope it’s breakfast included and a late check out time.

Initial perceptions of Kim and her boyfriend tax might be initially shocking, however there seems to be good intentions behind the practice.

She explained that her the money is being stashed away and has allowed her to cover the cost of bills while also being able to save up enough to gift her boyfriend with a surprise holiday to Mexico.

What a lovely twist.

However, she did not elaborate whether she pays her boyfriend when she visits him.

Commenters under the video were quick to voice their opinions both positive and negative.

One person wrote: “Good luck in keeping your boyfriend.”

Another user said: “Hope you’re not expecting a ring.”

Meanwhile another commenter put: “Smart.”

All this said, with the average cost of a hotel room for a night across the USA, where Kim lives, at $150 (€104), her boyfriend might be getting a steal of a price here at only $50 (€45) per night…
