“I guess not today, but maybe tomorrow.”
It’s not every day that a video quite literally stops us in our tracks and makes us think about what’s going on in the world around us.
However, a short film featuring 14-year-old Ryan Wiggins, a teenager with Asperger’s Syndrome, has done just that.
The video was created using his mother’s video camera and a selfie stick, and brings the viewer through the haunting and terrifying turmoil that he is living through day after day, week after week.
With the resounding message of “maybe tomorrow”, we follow Ryan’s journey through a day full of fear, self-loathing and dread.
A day that culminates in horrific text messages from his peers, and the anguished wondering, “Will there ever come a time when I’m finally happy?”
Entitled Tomorrow, the video is a powerful and uneasy glimpse into a terrifying world and was uploaded to YouTube to raise awareness for the autism charity, Anna Kennedy.
