Everybody loves sausage rolls.
Even those who don’t partake in the eating of meat can agree that there’s something special about a load of pig wrapped in pastry.
However, there is one person who probably wasn’t all that into sausage rolls, and that’s Jesus Christ.
Mainly due to the fact that he was a jew and most likely didn’t eat pork.
So, when UK bakery chain Greggs included a giant sausage roll in a nativity scene advert right where the baby Jesus was supposed to be, understandably, people were a little bit confused.
Some people were even angry.
But most, to be honest, just thought it was the funniest thing that ever happened in the history of advertising.
Here’s the image in question.

And here’s one person who thought that equating the Jewish son of God to a sausage roll was wildly inappropriate.
Out of interest do you think the people at Greggs understand that Jesus was Jewish and serving up a pork sausage roll in the manger is unbelievably inappropriate?

However, others weren’t so bothered by the photo.
They actually found it quite funny.
And seeing as it is literally a photo of a sausage roll lying in a manger, we can very much see why.
Seriously can't stop laughing at this LOOK AT THE PICTURE!! https://t.co/dqOcE0il1h

Don't see any problem with what Greggs have done, seeing as Jesus backwards is sausage

Just popping in to report a radio producer asked me to come on air and say I was upset Greggs apparently depicted baby Jesus as a sausage roll

The image was created to promote Greggs’ advent calendar which hopefully includes a little steak pie behind every door.
However, due to the amount of attention the sausage roll nativity scene has been getting (and the few complaints that have come with it), the bakery chain has been forced to apologise for replacing the baby Jesus with some pork wrapped in pastry.
A Greggs spokesperson told the Northern Echo today:
“We’re really sorry to have caused any offence, this was never our intention.”
