Nobody, and we bet NOBODY saw this one coming.
There was massive excitement for Twilight fans last month when author Stephanie Meyer revealed that a special book would be released to mark the 10th anniversary of the popular series.
While it was rumoured that there would be a plot twist in the new special edition, when Life And Death: Twilight Reimagined hit shelves this week, nobody could have predicted what would happen next.
Meyer has rewritten the book to mark the occasion, and in doing so, has played with the gender of her two main characters, Edward and Bella.

Edward (or Edythe Cullen) is now a girl in the new book and Bella (or Beau Swan) is now a boy.
Speaking about the news, she said: “It’s the same story but a new version of it.
“Bella is Beau and Edward is Edythe. It starts out very similar… It’s just a love story, it doesn’t matter who’s the boy and who’s the girl, it still works out,” she added saying that it bothered her that Bella was seen as a damsel in distress.
