Fans of beloved novel To Kill a Mockingbird will be overjoyed at this news.

Author Harper Lee, 88, is set to release a sequel to the best-selling book, 55 years after its 1960 release.

Publishers Harper announced today that a second Lee novel, titled Go Set A Watchman, will be released on July 14th.

The story was completed in the 1950s by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Lee and set aside. According to reports, the manuscript was “rediscovered” late last year.

Though Go Set A Watchman was completed before To Kill A Mockingbird, the story is essentially a sequel.

Rediscovered last fall, Go Set a Watchman is essentially a sequel to To Kill A Mockingbird, although it was finished earlier. The 304-page book will be Lee’s second, and the first new work in more than 50 years.

Harper publisher Jonathan Burnham said in a statement:”The existence of Go Set A Watchman was unknown until recently, and its discovery is an extraordinary gift.”
