Love affairs can be fickle – there are ups, and there are downs.
This certainly applies to Dubliner Kelly Earley’s love affair with furniture giant IKEA.
When Kelly (aka @donlothario on Twitter) set her sights on a NJUTA dressing gown from her beloved store, she had no idea it was going to be such a roller coaster of emotions.

The sequence of events is outlined in her masterpiece of an email to the store.
She begins: “Dear IKEA,I have been behind you from day one. Many of my family members don’t “get” IKEA.
“I could not see what they saw. Every trip to IKEA was enjoyable, moderate exercise to me.
“I was once the person who stopped at almost every display and forced my loved ones to sit down in them with me and pretend that we lived in them.”
So far, so lovely.
However, the story took a turn for the worse when Kelly couldn’t find the coveted dressing gown despite her very best efforts.
She wrote: “I opened door after door in the bathroom section and found nothing except a few towels and face cloths.”
“My sister called me and told me she had just paid and to hurry up.
“On the 5th of July 2015, for the first time in my life, I left IKEA with a heavy heart.”
However, as all of our favorite love stories do, this one had a very happy ending.
On receiving the heartfelt email, the kind folk at IKEA saved the day.
they gave me the robe, 2 pairs of little boot slippers (one 4 me one 4 amy) and about 2kg of sweets

Well, if that’s not proof that true love exists, we don’t know what is.
