This guy filmed every day for a year in the run up to his proposal

Total tear jerker!

One thing’s for sure – proposals have to be one of the most daunting things for a person.

There is an almighty pressure put on people to create elaborate surprises or have special plans made for when they decide to pop the question.

For some reason just getting down on one knee won’t cut it anymore for some people and results in a lot of effort and thought going into proposals. We’ve had an Irish guy who recently made us all bawl after planning a video with his girlfriend before he proposed and we’ve also seen the guy who replaced contents from a time capsule that he and his girlfriend had buried five years earlier with a note asking her to marry him.

But now another guy has made a proposal video and it is adorable. Josh Schmitz decided that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend Danielle. Instead of planning for a few weeks or months he spread it out over a whole year for a very important reason.

He wanted to tell her how he felt about her each day for one year and did so by carrying a mini whiteboard around with him writing little notes and memos for her each day. He managed to take a few seconds footage each day while holding the board.

According to NBC Chicago, when the year was up he made the clips into one long video and continued with his plan. He got a friend of Danielle’s to pretend they had to go to a fake corporate event. When she arrived all her friends and family were there and so was a large screen which played out the entire video.

At the end of it, Danielle was told to walk outside to the lake where Josh was waiting to ask her to marry him.

Luckily, she said yes.

The video is over 20 minutes long but it’s worth a watch if only to skip through every so often to see the different messages he wrote. At one point Danielle is even in the background of the shot.

Now pass me a tissue!
