Brilliant!
We’ve all seen Flowergirls or Page Boys sprinkling petals before the bride walks up the aisle. It’s a nice tradition and a way of including some of the younger members of the family in the celebration.
Bride-to-be Jen Briskin wanted a Flowergirl for her wedding, but with a difference. In a bid to include her grandfather in her wedding day she thought of a very special part for him, to be her ‘Flower Grandpa’.
She told Country Living:
“The idea of having him be a ‘flower girl’ started out as a joke, and I teased him that I was going to have him wear a tutu and patent leather shoes like a typical flower girl.
He liked to joke that this would make him ‘go viral!’ My whole family thought that I was crazy but I couldn’t let it go. I wanted our wedding to be memorable and different without being cheesy and I thought that this would be the perfect addition to our ceremony.”
So on her special day that’s exactly what he did and he ended up stealing the show. At 85 years of age her threw petals up the aisle before Jen walked down the aisle.
