These Are The Ten New Words You Can Now Count In Your Game Of Scrabble

To say we’re competitive is an understatement. 

Now there are ten new words to help you reach to Scrabble stardom status.

For all you wordsmiths out there (and by that we mean nerds), you’ll be well aware that there is an actual guide to words allowed on the Scrabble board.

Housing more than 250,000 acceptable phrases for your boardgame, the Collins Official Scrabble Words dictionary has now updated their count with 6,500 new words.

While we don’t have the time to do a run-down of ALL the latest additions, here are the 10 phrases that have people talking:

  1. LOLZ(13 points) – meaning laughter
  2. WUZ(15 points) – apparently this means ‘was’
  3. DENCH(11 points) – a new word for excellent
  4. THANKX(15 points) – we blame texting for this one
  5. TUNEAGE(8 points) – a quality song
  6. OBVS(9 points) – a shortened word for obviously
  7. CAKEAGES(15 points) – the charge a restaurant adds to the bill for serving cake from an outside source
  8. CAZH(18 points) – again a shortened form of casual
  9. GRR(4 points) – when you’re both angry and annoyed
  10. HACKTIVIST(22 points) – Person who hacks computer systems for political reasons
