If you've ever wondered why Starbucks misspell names time after time after time, then this theory might interest you.
Now, it might be because baristas are usually busy and only have a few seconds to scrawl a name or perhaps they didn't hear you properly BUT according to a theory dreamed up by YouTube channel SuperDeluxe, it's a lot more complicated than that.
If someone's name is spelled incorrectly, they usually find it funny and more often than not the cup in question is posted on social media.
This means you're giving Starbucks free PR and when you think of all the other people doing the same, it really adds up.
So, the theory suggests that Starbucks employees are writing our names incorrectly in the hope of more publicity.
Although the idea is definitely a bit mad, it makes a lot of sense too and has been picked up by various news sites today.
