The streets will be packed.
If there is one thing that the 2016 Rio Olympics will be remembered for it’s the O’Donovan brothers. They provided some hilarious moments through out the competition and also made the entire nation proud when they took home a silver medal in the Lightweight Double Schulls.
Since the games, they’ve appeared on The Late Late Show and other TV and radio shows and it’s only just the beginning for what’s to come from the pair. And now they’ve just been confirmed for a big appearance in the run up to Christmas.
The lads will turn on the Christmas lights in Cork, officially kicking off the Christmas festive period. The switching on of the lights will take place on Patrick’s Street on Sunday, November 13th.
Speaking about their involvement the O’Donovans said:
“Following what has been a rollercoaster few months, we are delighted to help kick-off the Christmas season in Cork City.
Hopefully Santa can fit a few oars down the chimneys next month! Thank you for all your magnificent support – Happy Christmas to one and all!”
