The Magic Is Gone – Author Confirms End of Popular Novel Series

"I haven’t been able to call to what I need to make this book right."

The world of fiction lost a sprinkling of magic this weekend when fans of hit author Debora Geary were left shell shocked as she announced that she was closing the door on the hit Witch Central series.

The series currently has more than 15 books.

Debora announced the news to her loyal following on Facebook, citing the breakdown of her 12-year marriage in December 2013 as one of the causes behind the decision.

The weekend saw messages of love and support pour in from her fans, and although Debora has said that she will continue to write, there will certainly be a witch-shaped hole left in her future scribblings.

A Modern Witch was the first novel in Geary’s hit series

Speaking about the news, Debora stated: “Witch Central was born and written from the roots of what my family was, and my dreams for what we would be. The current unraveling of much of that has deeply touched my writing. I haven’t been able to call to what I need to make this book right. To make it gel. To feel the magic.”

“I’m here to tell you that I’m saying goodbye to my role of the last four years as Witch Central’s chief storyteller.”

For those of you still in need of a bit of Moira’s love from Witch Central though, don’t fear, as Feathers (A Witch Central Morsel), which is a selection of many of Debora’s favourite scenes from the series, became available to readers on Amazon last night as part of a final gift to her loyal readers. This is hoped to be followed by the last book in the series in October.

For bookworms everywhere, there is a little less magic in the world…
