Strong Winds and Widespread Showers – Yellow Weather Warning Still In Effect

The yellow weather warning is still in place today.

Rebecca McKnight

The weather won’t be as bad as what we saw earlier this month but there is still a status yellow national weather warning in place today.

Met Éireann has predicted strong winds and heavy showers across the county. Thunderstorms, hail showers and spot flooding are also expected in some parts but so too are bright, dry spells.

The coastal areas will bear the brunt of the gusty, south-easterly winds with speeds reaching between 90 and 110km/hr.

Top temperatures will be around 8 or 9 degrees Celsius this afternoon but that will drop later this evening to between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius.

Tonight will be cold and breezy with showers. There is also a risk of frost in some parts which means motorists should take extra care.
