Status Yellow Weather Warning Is In Effect

Cold temperatures, more wintry showers and ice on the roads.

It’s not the best it could be (by a long, long way) but at least it appears the weather forecast is ever so slightly better today than it was yesterday.

Met Éireann is still predicting cold temperatures and heavy showers but has said it will not be as stormy as yesterday.

There is still a Status Yellow national weather warning in place which means anyone who is out and about, especially motorists, should take extra care.

This morning, frost and ice is expected across the country with highest temperatures around 6 or 7 degrees Celsius.

Throughout the day it will be cold and windy with wintry showers, some of which will fall as snow in certain areas.

Tonight, conditions are expected to be dry but again, frost and ice will be widespread. Lowest temperatures will be between minus 2 and plus 2 degrees Celsius.
