It has been revealed that two of Eastenders favourite characters will be leaving the show before the end of this year.
Marc Elliot and John Partridge who play gay couple Syed and Christian are to be written out of the soap.
But the pair won’t be leaving without a bang. The storyline that is to unfold over the coming months involving the couple is said to be explosive. Not that we wouldn't have guessed that it would be, knowing Eastenders!
Executive producer of the show, Lorraine Newman, told the Daily Mirror: ‘Marc and John have been a fantastic part of the show and their characters have been a huge success.’
Marc and John drew in over nine million viewers a two years ago when their characters’ affair was revealed.

The couple were having an affair behind Syed's wife's back.
Despite enjoying incredible success and having thousands of fans, both actors have decided to move on from the programme that has made them famous.
Speaking about his time on the show Marc said: ‘I have had a brilliant time on Eastenders and made some amazing friends. I have also been blessed with some incredible storylines.’
John echoed his co-star’s sentiments: ‘I have had the time of my life at Eastenders, but I have always gone with my instincts – and leaving at the same time as Marc felt like the only thing to do. It is the right end to the story and for Christian.’
As sad as it is to see them go, we don’t reckon it will be long before we see these two back on the small screen.
