Spice up the type of foods you’re preparing for your baby with this great homemade hummus recipe.
Here’s a lunchtime recipe that’s perfect for you and your baby as you’re weaning them onto solids up until their first birthday. The recipe has been designed to be nutritionally balanced so it’ll benefit both of you.

Recipe: EasyPeasy Homemade Hummus
Serves 12
Suitable from 6 months on.
Ingredients:
- 400g tin chickpeas
- 3 tbsps tahini
- 1 tbsp flaxseed oil
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed and
- smooth
- Juice of half a lemon
- Ground black pepper
- Pinch cumin & cayenne pepper
Method:
1.Blend the chickpeas in a food processor until smooth, mix in the tahini, flax seed oil, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, cayenne.
2.Adjust seasoning by adding freshly ground black pepper.
3. Add a little water if needed.
4. Serve at room temperature.
Why not set aside some of this mixture for the adults in the family and spice things up by
blending in some chopped red chilli if you dare!
