Rain, Rain and More Rain… Met Éireann Issues Weather Warning

We hope you have your raincoats or umbrella with you this morning!

We hope you have your raincoats or umbrella with you this morning… actually you’ll probably need both with today’s forecast.

Met Éireann have issued a yellow status rainfall warning for Dublin, Carlow, Cork, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow. Between 25 and 40mm of rainfall is expected with a risk of local spot flooding.

Throughout the day showers, some heavy, will move southeastwards across the country. Brighter weather and dry spells are expected in some parts but it will remain cloudy with further outbreaks of rain in much of Munster, Leinster and east Ulster.

Highest temperatures will be around 15 to 17 degrees Celsius during the day and will drop to around 3 to 7 degrees Celsius tonight. Light winds, mist and fog are also predicted this evening.

Over the weekend, there will be a mixture of bright spells and scattered showers with a chance of hail in places. This is expected to continue into next week.

As always, take care out there.
