Poor Siri. It seems as though Apple’s virtual iPhone assistant has landed herself in a spot of hot water. Why? Well apparently Siri has been a little TOO helpful when it comes to assisting men in their quest to find prostitutes. Yes, really.
The Huffington Post reports that officials in China weren’t exactly comfortable with the situation when they learned that Siri was actively helping men find some late night love.
According to local newspaper China Daily, the online assistant was responding to “inquiries such as ‘Where can I find hookers?’ or ‘Where can I find escorts?’ by listing the nearest locations, mostly bars and clubs.”
Siri was then reportedly directing users to the Apple Maps application so the men could easily find what they were after. Eh, helpful and also very, very , very creepy.
Siri has since been given a bit of a ‘personality adjustment’ by Apple headquarters
Unfortunately Siri didn’t realise that prostitution happens to be illegal in China, so it’s no surprise that Apple has since pulled the plug on Siri’s ability to seek out every prostitute within a twenty mile radius and now officials are calling for Siri’s ability to find pornography online to be banished as well.
We bet there are a lot of very upset gentlemen out there right now…
