Zara's founder, 80-year-old Amancio Ortega, the Spanish billionaire that even beat Bill Gates rich list ranking last year for a period of time making him the richest man in the world, is currently sitting in fourth place and expected to soar even more.
And this comes as no surprise since the majority of us basically LIVE in Zara, and that's only us folk in Ireland never mind worldwide.
With a net worth of €63 billion, yep BILLION, it was reported at the end of last year that Amancio Ortega made a staggering €338 million in just 2017 alone. Not too shabby.
And here comes the scary part *takes deep breath* - making €338 million a year works out at €943,000 a day and finally averages at roughly €644 a minute - AND to make things more upsetting since the average person makes roughly €11 an hour, it would take us about 59 hours work to make what Amancio Ortega makes in 60 seconds. Ah fantastic... for him.
By the looks of Ortega's Forbes real time earnings, a poor day is not coming anytime soon with his current figures showing an increase in profit.
If he keeps dishing out gorge silk leotards and stretchy jeans we will be sure to keep him in business. These old-fashioned baby names are making a comeback in 2026
