A Chinese man is taking legal action against a well-known actress, alleging that she stared at him too intensely through his television.
Actress Zhao Wei stars in the Chinese hit show Tiger Mom Cat Dad and was recently named “China’s Billionaire Actress” by Forbes.
The actress plays a strong-willed disciplinarian on Tiger Mom.
A man has now filed a lawsuit against her, claiming that her intense stare on the show made him frightened and caused “spiritual damage.”
The China Times newspaper has reported that the man is now seeking “spiritual compensation” through a Chinese court.
The papers were filed at the People’s Court of Shanghai Pudong New District and coincides with new laws making it much harder for courts to reject “frivolous lawsuits.”
