Love/Hate writer Stuart Carolan has revealed that the secret to the programme’s success is his friendship with the Gardai.
He said that he does a lot of research and talks to a number of people, including guards, in order to get material for the award-winning drama.
Stuart Carolan is the brain behind the gritty crime drama.
“I talk to an awful lot of people – that’s a big part of it. There’s a huge amount of people I talk to,” he explained to The Sun newspaper.
“Guards, for example, helped me out and I became friends with them. I owe them a huge amount just in terms of getting it right factually.”
Love/Hate is headed for a fourth series which is due to start filming this month.
The cast and crew are currently gearing up for the fourth series of the show which is due to start filming later this month.
And while he was happy to speak about his inspiration, Carolan remained tight-lipped about future storylines: “I really can’t say anything about series four.”
