If you love nothing more than sitting down to a curry at least once a week, then you’ll be happy to hear this.
According to a recent study, which looked at the food habits of nearly half a million Chinese people, those who consume more spicy foods tend to live longer.
It found that those who consumed such foods six or seven times a week reduced their risk of dying by 14 per cent, compared to those who ate them less than once a week.
Spicy foods are also associated with a lower risk of heart disease and respiratory diseases.
The researchers, of Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, stressed that these findings could also be linked to habits and lifestyle choices.
