Looking On The Bright Side Of An Irish Winter: The Five Things We Love About The Season

It's not all doom and gloom during an Irish winter... we share the top things we love about the chilly season...

Her

Ireland mightn’t have the clean and crisp snow-white, dream-like winters we see in films, but we’re optimistic people and the incessant Irish rain can’t get us down when we think of these fantastic reasons to love our winter…

…And The Fire Is So Delightful…

Whether you’re a summer sun worshipper or a lover of a cosy winter, everybody loves curling up next to a blazing fire. Wind howling outside, rain lashing down, hot drink in your hand and the flames burning bright. Nothing gets cosier than this, unless you have the bonus of someone to curl up with!

Book, check. Fluffy socks, check. Fire, check. Hot chocolate? Oh, sh-…

…And The Next One Please…

We’re not lazy people, we just love TV. It’s not a crime in the least, but the guilt factor can start to kick in on your fifth episode of Breaking Bad in one evening. Eh-hem, yes, we have watched most of these…

We Love A/W Style Every Year…

This A/W the catwalks showed us how winter style is done. Think purple, think cobalt blue, think embellishments, think collars and big necklaces, think classy ankle boots… winter is by far the most exciting season to glam up and this is one trend that will never fade.

Get On Your Gladrags!

Some we haven’t seen in years, others weeks. Winter is the best time of the year for meeting up with friends and family and the party season is just getting started. Grab the champers, heels and hairspray, we’ll be suffering in January so we might as well enjoy ourselves now!

We’re prepping ourselves for the party season…

Appreciating Food

We might be suffering from a very hungover head in January, but we’ll also be suffering from a stuffed-to-the-brim body. We love winter because we can overeat. There, we’ve said it! The tins of Roses, Quality Street and Celebrations come out from the cupboards in their droves and we lack every ounce of willpower to say no. It’s only once a year though… and we’ve been so good, we know we deserve it!

Another one? Oh, don’t mind if I do…
