There’s less than a week to go until season four of Game of Thrones comes to a close and for those worrying about how they’ll cope over the upcoming months before the new series, there’s some consolation.

HBO has revealed an updated schedule that states that the season finale “The Children” will be the longest episode to date.

Clocking in at 66 minutes, this episode is to be 15 minutes longer than last week’s show.

“It’s the best finale we’ve ever done, bar none,” showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss said in a statement.

“The performances from our cast, the direction from Alex Graves, the VFX work, the new [music] cues from Ramin Djawadi — all of it came together in perhaps the finest hour we’ve produced. We’re immensely proud of ‘The Children.’

“And a little intimidated by the episode, because now we have to get back to the business of season five and figure out a way to top it.”
