While walking home drunk after a night out, one man saw something he thought his two-year-old niece would love and was determined to get it for her.
Shane Dunne spotted a pink balloon floating by a small canal. He was adamant his niece Ellie, who is also his goddaughter, should have it. Happily, the entire effort was captured on video for our entertainment.
Hilarity ensues when the Dundalk man falls over during his efforts to rescue the balloon, thankfully though, he manages to hold on to it.

Uncles have a reputation for spoiling their little nieces and this man is no exception... though we're not sure how much she wanted a second hand balloon her uncle found in a canal.
Ellie's mammy Laura confirmed that she did in fact get the balloon in the end... and was delighted with it.
