Here’s Why You Should Always Log Off When You’re Done: Irish Facebook Prank Goes Viral

We all know the dangers of leaving yourself logged into Facebook while you’re on a college campus (frapes ahoy, what?) but after reading this story we are never leaving our phones/laptops out in the open ever, ever again – especially if one of our friends happens to be in the same room as it.

Poor Clare from County Down has become the victim of a (dare we say hilarious) Facebook status prank after she left her computer unsupervised in a room with one of her friends.

Clare, who is a student in Jordanstown, was left red-faced after a friend (she’s blaming it on a friend named Brian) left a very, very, VERY embarrassing update on her Facebook page. Check it out:

We’re aware the above is a little small, so here’s the full text just in case you can’t read it:

“Hey this is kinda embarrassing but I guess I have ran out of options at this stage :/ so um, last night me and a guy from block 16 were getting it on in my room and we decided to spice it up so I let him handcuff me to the bed and after we made passionate love all night we both were exhausted and fell asleep right after, anyway he left this morning to go to his lecture but the c**t forgot to unlock the handcuffs… I have been waiting for him to come back all day but he just text me telling me he has gone home for the weekend to see his girlfriend (bit of an awkward moment). Anyway long story short I’m in Block 13, Room 4 and I really need to pee…”

Morto or what? Anyway, needless to say the status has now gone viral and Clare has already expressed amazement at the interest the status has garnered over the past few hours.

The status, which was posted last night, already has 5,000 ‘likes’ and 186 comments. Showing that she has an epic sense of humour, Clare has said that the post “went from being good craic to out of control with near 3,000 likes in just over 2 hours… all credit must go to Brian – well done I can now never leave block 13!! Thanks buddy!!”

With friends like that, who needs enemies?  But wait… it gets even better!

Apparently some of Clare’s friends actually thought that the story was true. In fact, she had to assure everyone that the post was a fake and that she wasn’t actually handcuffed to a bed in someone’s room.

Well, we have to say fair play to Clare for taking the joke so well. We’re not sure we could have been so forgiving…
