Even though they were, at times, one of the shows most annoying, dysfunctional couples, by the end of series two of the HBO show Girls, it seemed as though Marnie and Charlie had finally got their act together and were destined to live happily ever after.
But, if Perez Hilton is to be believed, Christopher Abbott aka Charlie has quit the show. All together now… nooooooooooooo.
Apparently the previously unknown actor has left the hit show because he and co-creator Lena couldn’t agree on his character’s storyline.
A source revealed “They’ve just started work on Season 3, and Chris is at odds with Lena… He didn’t like the direction things are going in, which seems a bit odd since the show put him on the map.”
Take a good look at him… because you won’t be seeing him on Girls for much longer
And even though season three is currently in production, Chris’ rep also confirmed: “[Chris] is grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd[Apatow], and the entire ‘Girls’ cast and crew, but right now he’s working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show.”
So what does this mean for Marnie? To be honest, we don’t think we can take her another minute of her moping around. Not when we have Hannah’s OCD penchant for cutton buds to contend with. And don’t even talk to us about Shoshanna’s cheating!
How could he do this to us? Weep.
