Murphy’s Stout will give away a thousand free pints in Cork this weekend if it rains.
The brewery has promised to provide Corkonians with a free pint if Ireland does not see this weekend’s predicted heat wave.
However, the company will run the promotion until September so fans of the stout will be able to call in for a pint any time the skies open up.
Spokesperson Peter Murphy told The Irish Sun: “Us here at Murphy’s would absolutely love gorgeous sunny weather but we are being realistic. We want to make the wet weather more bearable.”
Met Eireann forecaster said yesterday: It will be dry for the next few days but there’s substantial rain going to fall on Saturday night.”
Over a hundred pubs across Cork city and county will take part in this summer promotion.
Corkonians may need all the free pints they can get when they face Galway in the All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Semi-Final on Sunday.
