Entering into a new relationship is hard. You worry about whether your partner will be faithful, whether you’ll align on core values and whether your connection will stand the test of time. Not to stress anyone out or anything, but there’s now another thing potential lovers need to be vetted for – would they throw a pair of €660 designer shoes in the bin?

As if to formally announce the return of the Boom to Ireland, a pair of Manolo Blahnik heels worth almost €700 were found discarded in a bin at the Galway Races. Carrie Bradshaw found shaking.

Galway woman and RTÉ presenter Teresa Mannion took to the app now known as X to share a few snaps of the discarded shoes, and the security staff who came across them.

Teresa wrote: “Security staff at Ballybrit were bemused to find a pair of designer shoes worth 660 euros dumped in a bin! Even a pair of #ManoloBlahniks couldn’t sustain a lady at the #GalwayRaces“.

The presenter also revealed that the Manolos landed in the bin after a woman took them off and handed them to her partner, who lobbed them in there with the empty bottles and old paper plates.

It’s been reported that the owner is unlikely to be reunited with the dusty pink heels, as they were taken away when the bins were emptied at the end of the day.

We have so many questions… what did the Manolo-owner wear for the rest of the day? How long did it take her to notice they were no longer safely cradled in her partner’s arms? Will the security staff pop them up on Depop?
