What do you think?
Dove has come under fire for a new campaign which aims to promote positivity in women. They are encouraginging women to tell their friends to share one positive tweet for every negative one.
It’s called #SpeakBeautiful and they say it’s a “fun activity to spread positivity”.
If you know a girl who has been negative online—about herself or others—try this fun activity to spread positivity. #SpeakBeautiful pic.twitter.com/cEZZbCz4ye

Their main aim is to get women to post positively more than negatively but instead of having that effect it has caused a huge backlash with people suggesting it’s “patronising” and “creepy”.
.@Scientits @Dove Oh God. They’ve made a campaign out of those men that tell you to SMILE.

@Dove this is severely creepy. It’s like happy bullying.

@Dove or you could encourage people to listen to women instead of dismissing their voices

#SpeakBeautiful or don’t. It’s up to you. Your life, your online presence, you don’t have to be part of a cynical marketing tool for @Dove https://t.co/M4OyG3KNeh
