Each week Her.ie will look at a new cook book, giving you the inside scoop whether the recipes cut the mustard. From health kicks, to wholesome foods, we find out what books offer the best insights for budding cooks!
This week: Nutella: The 30 Best Recipes
After a recent scare that our supply of Nutella could be running out, any sane person was sure to have stocked up on a few tubs.
With this in mind, we thought it only appropriate to honour one of our favourite cupboard staples by leafing through the Nutella cook book.
Nutella: The 30 Best Recipes not only looks like the real deal, but has us drooling to try each recipe out for ourselves.
The 30 recipes are split into four sections, each covering a different style from treats, to melt-in-the-mouth bites and sharing platters. The recipe’s instructions and ingredients are compact due to the size of the book, but are easy to follow.
Whether you take on a classic with a Nutella twist like the Nutella crème brulée, or branch out with a Nutella and fruit club sandwich, you can guarantee there’ll be something to tickle all tastebuds.
Our only criticism is that some of the recipes rely on ready-made ingredients, such as salted caramel or filo pastry, but the rest of the baking requirements are fairly common store cupboard ingredients and won’t set you back in your weekly supermarket spree.
Every recipe comes with a beautifully shot and mouth watering photo and the instructions are easy to follow so could be used to entertain kids or for a light snack when having the girls around.
Still working on your cooking skills? The recipes cover various skill levels, so there will be something in here whether you’re queen of the kitchen or a novice baker.
We also happen to love that even if you make a mistake, there’s always a saving grace in the fact that every recipe is based on Nutella.
If you have a birthday gift coming up, this might be a nice extra touch for a friend, coupled with a massive pot of Nutella of course.
Feel free to send any samples of your baking efforts to the Her.ie building. We’ll be happy to act as taste-testers…
