It’s a busy time for the British Monarchy, with The Duchess of Cambridge due to give birth in the coming days to her second child with Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.

William, 32, has started his paternity leave following completion of his first phase of his air ambulance training ahead of time. Meanwhile, parking restrictions remain in place outside Paddington Hospital, where Kate is expected to be admitted in the coming days.

It is almost four years since Charles’ mother, Queen Elizabeth, made an historic State visit to Ireland in 2011 at the invitation of then President Mary McAleese. Elizabeth’s visit was the first of a British Royal to the Irish Republic since 1911, when Ireland was under British rule.
