What a woman.
Following Donald Trump’s announcement to ban transgender people from serving in the US military, many people took to social media to critique his decision.
One of those people was Blake Lively.
The Gossip Girl star posted a photo to her Instagram of military service members holding a gay pride flag. Her caption told followers of her support for transgender soldiers, reading:
“THIS is America. WE the people. ALL THE PEOPLE. Today I stand with our fellow citizens. No human being is a burden. I believe in equality. In freedom. In opportunity. In kindness, acceptance, and fairness.”
Blake also encouraged people to sign the Change.org petition in her bio to allow transgender people to serve in the military.

Blake’s post received a lot of support from fans who thanked her for drawing even more attention to the cause.
However, one user responded to the post saying: “You catching that unfollow for this,” and Blake replied in the greatest way possible.
Replying directly to the user, she said:
“I choose love. That’s the only thing that we all have. It is peace. It is happiness. Not follows or unfollows. I wish happiness for you. And I hope you find that your heart has a bigger capacity than you give it credit for. I know it does.”
Blake’s post has been liked over 530,000 times since it was first shared.
