Dublin got their Irish Daily Star Division 1 league campaign off to the perfect start today with a 1-11 to 0-3 win over Derry.
The win came after organizers had been forced to move the fixture to the Bray Emmets pitch due to the rain, but the upheaval certainly made no difference to the Dublin side who hit the back of the net after just four minutes.
Elsewhere, Limerick recovered from a slow start to share the spoils against Galway where it ended 0-6 apiece in Ballinasloe.
It was two crucial goals that netted the win for Offaly meanwhile, as they ran out 2-8 to 0-8 winners over Tipperary.
All-Ireland champions Cork faced off to Clare at home on Saturday, bagging a 1-10 to 0-6 victory over the Banner.

On to Division 2, and Laois caused a bit of an upset by hammering Kildare 1-11 to 0-5 in Abbeyleix. Waterford were well on top against Tipperary’s second team at Carriganore finishing as 2-21 to 0-4 winners.
Westmeath opened their campaign with an in-form Pamela Greville helping them to a 0-9 to 0-7 win over the Wexford intermediate team. Galway secured a one-point win over Antrim, Cork had two goals to spare over Down while Kilkenny were 1-7 to 0-3 winners over Meath.
In Division 3, Carlow overcame Armagh 1-8 to 0-5 while it ended all square between Dublin and Roscommon.
