1. Coxinhas
The coxinha is a very popular street food and consists of chopped or shredded chicken meat that's fried in batter and moulded into little shapes that resemble a chicken leg. Usually the chicken mix is combined with a creamy cheese called "catupiry".
2. Quindim
Quindim is a great baked dessert made of egg yolks, sugar, and ground coconut flakes and makes for a delicious dessert. It's usually presented as an upturned cup with a gorgeous yellow/orange glistening surface.
3. Feijoada
If you're a fan of stew, Brazil's finest is worth checking out. Feijoada is a stew of beans with beef and pork. It has been described as the country's national dish and remains a favourite among the locals.
4. Pamonha
A traditional Brazilian food, pamonha is a paste made from sweet corn and milk which is boiled wrapped in corn husks, turned into a kind-of dumpling. It can be savoury or sweet, for those who are more of a savoury fan, they can be filled with all sorts of things like cheese, minced meat or just served plain.
5. Brigadeiro
Also known as the chocolate bonbon, these delicious treats are full of chocolately goodness. These tasty chocolate truffles are made using condensed milk and covered in chocolate sprinkles. They're usually served at birthday parties or as dessert.
