A groom in America is being sued by two wedding guests after his drone fell and hit them.

Barry Billcliff, who got married in August, has said that his wedding should be remembered as the best day of his life but instead has left his family with a “nightmare”.

According to the Boston Herald, Barry and the venue of his wedding are being sued for negligence by two of the bride’s friends. They believe that Barry was piloting the drone at the time when it dropped from the air and hit them.

Barry has since clarified that it was someone else who was using the drone but would not specify who. Speaking about the person who was using it he said, “He’s very sorry, he says it was a freak accident. There was no malicious intent whatsoever, it was an unfortunate chain of events.”

Two of the bride’s friends, Kelly Eaton and Kneena Ellis, are claiming to have received serious injuries from the drone. Kelly says that she fractured her nose and orbital bone and suffered a concussion, while Kneena says that the drone slashed her face which resulted in her needing 20 stitches.

Their attorney, Kevin McCullough, released a statement about the incident saying:

“Mr. Billcliff was operating and flying the drone throughout the day at the property. Mr. Billcliff allowed and caused the drone to crash into Mrs. Eaton and Mrs. Ellis. Both Mrs. Eaton and Mrs. Ellis are working towards recovering from their respective injuries.”

Meanwhile, Barry’s new bride says the incident has “ruined the wedding”.
