9 practical but oh-so wonderful Christmas gifts for your bestie

Holidays are coming, holidays are coming.

Aw yeah. Christmas is right around the corner and we are SO excited. We still have a few pressies to pick up, which is a little stressful, but one present that’s actually fun to buy is our best friend’s – we know exactly what they love so it’s just a matter of finding the perfect thing.

If you’re still deliberating, here are a few fab options that you might not have thought of yet. The best thing is that all of these presents are really practical – none of those nice-but-ultimately-useless gifts that will go to waste here. Just take a look.

1. Molton Brown Jasmine and Sun Rose Bath & Shower Gel – Arnotts, €25

Everyone needs to wash themselves but there’s nothing better than being able to spruce up your daily shower with some luxurious bath products. All of Molton Brown’s gels are delightful and the Jasmine and Sun Rose gel will leave your friend smelling like flowers for the whole day. You’ll definitely be in the good books with this one.

2. Teddy Throw – Penneys, €15

The perfect thing to keep your bestie warm during the winter months. And when you guys are apart, they can cuddle up with it and think of you – best way to keep that number one place in their heart. Though you might be vying with this blanket now because it is SO comfy.

3. Friends Trivial Pursuit game – Game Stop, €15.99

We LOVE board games and Christmas is the best time to play them. And what better game to give your best friend than a Friends themed game? Cue the competitive shouting matches.

4. Tickets to a play at the Abbey – price varies

Just the gift to satisfy your friend’s artsy side. Plays are great but most of us don’t get around to seeing nearly as many as we’d like. Check out what’s playing at the Abbey Theatre over the next few months and pick up a couple of tickets for something you think is right down your friend’s alley.

5. Pretty Pink Crêpe Maker – Argos, €19.99

For those pancake lovers out there. If you have a friend who loves to cook (or a friend who hates to cook but loves crêpes), this is perfect for them. It even comes with that little stick thing the professional crêpe-makers use to spread out the pancake mix. Christmas crêpe party, anyone?

6. Laptop Backpack – Currys, €29.99

Got a friend who is forever lugging their laptop around with them? Maybe it’s for work or maybe they just can’t bear to be without it for too long. Either way, it’s a constant hindrance to them and you just can’t watch them carry it around for one more second without a proper bag.

7. Lunch(es) at Boojum – price varies (depending on how hungry your friend is)

It may sound like a weird one but if your friend is a burrito fanatic, why not? Get them their next few rounds of lunches. Did you know Boojum now do quesadillas too? And they are GOOOOOOD.

8. Chalk Bag – The Great Outdoors, €19.99

Is your friend a climber? Or have they always expressed a wish to go climbing but never quite made the leap? Sure, give them a little push and give them a chalk bag to get started. They’ll be able to attach this to their waist while climbing to increase their grip and ward off nasty blisters.

9. Moleskine Notebook – Easons, €16-27

Writers can never have enough notebooks. Never. Which I’m sure you know if your friend loves to spend their time putting pen to paper, writing down thoughts, stories, lyrics, or anything else that comes to mind. Due to the sheer number of notebooks your friend buys, they probably try to stick to the cheaper options, so they’ll be thrilled receiving one that’s actually good quality for once.

Getting someone a Christmas gift that you know they’ll actually use and appreciate is super rewarding. Though if you want to make sure they’ll DEFINITELY use their present – let them choose it themselves. One4all Gift Cards work at ALL of these shops and loads more as well. Sure pick your bestie up one of those gift cards and they’ll have oodles of options to choose from. Maybe they’ll get lunch AND a notebook. Who knows? The possibilities are endless!
